5/4/07SUSTAINABLE FOOD SYSTEMS TASK FORCE
This Task Force was appointed as a result of a HOD motion in November 2005. Since that time, the Task Force worked on identifying the role of ADA members in supporting a sustainable food supply that is healthful and safe. They developed a primer on Sustainability titled "Healthy Land, Healthy People: Building a Better Understanding of Sustainable Food Systems for Food and Nutrition Professionals" and presented a training session on this to the HOD at their Spring 2007 Meeting. The objective of the primer is to provide ADA members with information regarding sustainable food systems and encourage members to assume leadership roles in the many areas of sustainable food systems.

This primer is available to ADA members at http://www.eatright.org/cps/rde/xchg/ada/hs.xsl/governance_11647_ENU_HTML.htm or by clicking on the Governance Tab and going to the HOD home page and clicking on Sustainable Food Systems Task Force under Resources. Also a related DVD is available for loan.
